The Ferrari 208 GT4, introduced at the 1975 Geneva Motor Show, was created specifically for the Italian market to circumvent high VAT on cars with engines over two liters. It featured the smallest production V8 engine for a road car at the time, a 2.0 L unit producing 170 PS and achieving a top speed of 137 mph. Notable changes included smaller Weber carburetors, a lower final drive ratio, and narrower tires. Distinguished by chrome accents and a black dashboard, the 208 GT4 was replaced by the 208 GTB in 1980 after a production run of only 840 units.
