Timeline

The Ferrari 195 S, a sports racing car produced in 1950, was an enhanced version of the 166 MM. Only four examples were created, converted from the 166 MM range. The 195 S featured a 2.3-litre Colombo V12 engine, an upgrade from the 166 MM, and included two closed berlinettas and two open barchettas, all bodied by Carrozzeria Touring. The car marked significant successes, including victories at the Mille Miglia, Coppa della Toscana, and Giro delle Calabria. Its first outing was at the 1950 Targa Florio and Giro di Sicilia, but none of the cars finished due to various issues. The 195 S achieved its first win at the Mille Miglia with Giannino Marzotto and Marco Crosara, despite challenging weather. The car also participated in the 1950 24 Hours of Le Mans, but both entries retired. In the same year, the 195 S secured the first two places at the Giro delle Calabria and performed well in the United States, including at the 6 Hours of Sebring. In 1951, it continued to compete successfully in various races, including a second place at the Giro di Sicilia.
