Timeline

The Ferrari 212 Export, produced in 1951-1952, was a sports racing car that achieved victories in prestigious races like the Tour de France automobile, Giro di Sicilia, Coppa della Toscana, and 10 Hours of Messina. Designed primarily for export markets, 27 units were built, most used in competition. It was an evolution of the 195 S, with a larger engine and a new chassis. The bodywork varied, with Carrozzeria Touring, Vignale, Carrozzeria Motto, and Paolo Fontana among the coachbuilders. The 212 Export's first success came in the 1951 Giro di Sicilia, and it continued to excel in various races, including a 1-2-3 victory in the first Tour de France automobile. Additionally, it performed well in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and various hill climb events, solidifying its reputation as a versatile and successful race car.
