Timeline

The Ferrari 212 Inter, launched in 1951, was an evolution of the Ferrari 166 and 195 Inter grand tourers, unveiled at the Brussels Motor Show. Designed for both road use and international racing, it notably achieved a 1-2 victory at the 1951 Carrera Panamericana in Mexico with two Vignale coupés. The chassis, similar to the Ferrari 125, featured double wishbones at the front and a live axle at the rear. The 212 Inter was a collaboration with various coachbuilders, including Carrozzeria Touring, Ghia, Ghia-Aigle, Vignale, Stabilimenti Farina, and Pinin Farina, the latter creating the first 212 Inter Cabriolet. A unique model within the series was chassis no. 0223EU, referred to as a 225 Inter or 225 Europa. Built in 1952, this one-off model combined the 225 S's 2.7 L Colombo V12 engine with a long wheelbase Europa chassis. It was given a coupé body designed by Giovanni Michelotti and built by Vignale, distinguishing it as a singular example in the Ferrari 212 Inter lineup.
