The original 250 GT Cabriolet Pinin Farina Series I, unveiled at the 1957 Geneva Motor Show, was a distinct model with a 2,600 mm wheelbase and a body style different from the Berlinetta. It came with either 165R400 or 185VR16 Pirelli Cinturato tyres. Approximately 36 units of this series were produced before the introduction of a second series at the 1959 Paris Show. The Series II cars, of which around 200 were built, bore more resemblance to the production Berlinetta. The 250 GT Series I Cabriolet and Coupé were later recognized by Motor Trend Classic, ranking ninth in their list of the "Greatest Ferraris of all time."
