Chassis no. 1739 GT, a one-off Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta, was commissioned by Enrico Wax, a prominent Italian businessman, and designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro for Carrozzeria Bertone. This unique model, completed in 1960, stands out for its brushed stainless steel roof, rockers, and front and rear valances, along with a distinctive wire mesh grille and Ferrari's first rear window defroster. The car features a "clam shell" opening for the hood and fenders, a unique interior with central speedometer and tachometer, and was the first Ferrari with Campagnolo cast magnesium wheels. Influencing later designs like the 250 GT Lusso, it was admired by Battista ‘"Pinin" Farina. After various ownerships and restorations, this celebrated car, known for its elegance and historical significance, is a renowned showpiece in prestigious collections and international concours events.
