Timeline

The Ferrari 250 GT/E, introduced as the first large-production four-seat Ferrari, expanded the long-wheelbase (LWB) 250 GT theme. This 2+2 model increased interior space by advancing the engine in the chassis, offering rear seats suitable for children but tight for adults. Originally equipped with Pirelli Cinturato 185VR15 tyres (CA67), it featured Borrani RW3591 wheels in series 1 and RW3690 in series 2 & 3. The engine output was 240 PS (177 kW; 237 hp). Nearly 1,000 units were produced by Pininfarina from 1959 to 1963 across three series. The 250 GT/E was succeeded by the 330 America, which maintained a similar appearance but housed a larger 4.0 L engine. Significantly contributing to Ferrari's financial stability in the early 1960s, the GT/E was priced at an MSRP of $11,500.
