The Ferrari 250 P, launched in 1963, was Ferrari's innovative response to the FIA's new prototype class in the World Sportscar Championship. Designed by Mauro Forghieri, it featured a mid-engined, rear-wheel-drive layout with a 3.0-litre V12 engine producing 310 bhp. Notable for being Ferrari's first sports racing car with a rear-mounted V12, it achieved significant success, winning events like the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 12 Hours of Sebring. Ferrari produced only four 250 P chassis, which were later converted to 275 P or 330 P specifications after the 1963 racing season.
