The Ferrari 250 P5 Berlinetta Speciale, designed by Pininfarina and unveiled at the 1968 Geneva Motor Show, was based on a P4 chassis with a 3-liter mid-mounted V-12 engine. A conceptual exploration in aerodynamics and design, this prototype influenced future Ferrari models, notably introducing clear rear glass over the engine, a feature prevalent in modern Ferraris. Pininfarina also created a similar prototype for Alfa Romeo, the 33 Coupe Prototipo Speciale, presented in 1969. The P5's design was polarizing but instrumental in shaping future production designs.
