Between 1978 and 1986, Michelotto, an independent Ferrari dealer and race shop, developed rally versions of the Ferrari 308 GTB for Group 4 and Group B World Rally Championship classes. The Group 4 cars, starting in 1978, featured lightweight chassis and engines with 288-330 bhp. The Group B cars, introduced in 1982, had up to 310 hp with enhancements like quick-change gearboxes and upgraded brakes. These cars achieved notable rally successes, including wins in the Imperia Rally and the Sicilian Rally Championship, and a third-place finish at the 1985 Targa Florio.
