Timeline

The Ferrari 328, produced from 1985 to 1989, is a mid-engine, V8 two-seat sports car, succeeding the Ferrari 308 GTB and GTS. While retaining the base mechanics of the 308, it featured modifications to the body, chassis, and engine, most notably an increased engine displacement to 3.2 L. The design, a continuation from Pininfarina's work on its predecessor, included subtle changes for enhanced aesthetics and aerodynamics. The interior was also overhauled, with new upholstery designs and modernized cockpit switches. A total of 7,412 units were produced, with the GTS variant significantly outnumbering the GTB. Noted for its race car-like rigidity without a significant weight penalty, the 328's frame was made of oval-shaped tubular steel, with a body largely constructed from steel and aluminum. This model marked the final evolution of the transversely mid-mounted, conventionally aspirated 90 degree V8 Dino engine.
