Timeline

In 1963, Ferrari produced four 330 LMB GT racing cars, also known as the 330 LM, marking a development from the 250 GTOs with a significant upgrade: the incorporation of a 4-litre 330 engine, capable of 390 hp at 7,500 rpm. While visually similar to the 250 GTOs at the front, the 330 LMB's main structure was derived from the 250 Lusso. These cars were distinct from the 1962 330 GTOs, having a different chassis and body, and a slightly longer wheelbase. The 330 LMB had limited racing involvement as Ferrari was transitioning to mid-engined race cars. Its brief track record includes a retirement at Sebring 1963 and mixed results at Le Mans the same year, with one car finishing fifth but the others retiring. After these races, the 330 LMB saw no further participation in factory-supported racing events.
