The Ferrari 330 P3, introduced in 1966, was significant for incorporating fuel injection. It faced reliability issues, particularly with its transmission. All original P3s were either modified or scrapped; no intact examples remain. Designed to compete with the Ford GT40, the P3 emphasized improved aerodynamics and reduced weight over increased displacement. It boasted a Lucas fuel-injected 420 hp engine. In its racing tenure, the P3 saw mixed results, including a notable win at the Monza 1000 km but faced challenges and failures in other races like Sebring, Targa Florio, and Le Mans. The model was phased out in 1967, succeeded by the P4, with two units transferred to Scuderia Filipinetti.
