The Ferrari 335 S, unveiled in 1957, was Ferrari's bold response to the dominant Maserati 450S. As an evolution of the 315 S, it boasted a robust 4.0 L V12 engine, producing 390 hp and capable of speeds up to 300 km/h. Notoriously, it was involved in the tragic accident in the 1957 Mille Miglia that led to the race's cancellation from the following year. Despite this, the 335 S achieved notable success in racing, contributing to Ferrari's victory in the World Sports Car Championship. However, a change in championship regulations to a 3-litre engine limit rendered the 335 S ineligible post-1958, leading to its replacement by the 250 TR​​.
