Timeline

The Ferrari 400 Superamerica, introduced in 1959 as the 410 production ended, featured a smaller 4.0 L Colombo engine yet produced a comparable 340 PS (250 kW; 335 hp) at 7,000 rpm. Available in coupe, spider, or cabriolet forms with custom Pinin Farina bodywork, it marked the introduction of four-wheel disc brakes to the model. By 1964, a total of 47 units were produced over two series, with 32 being the coupé aerodinamico variant. The Series I coupés aerodinamico had open hood air scoops, while the Series II featured covered scoops and a slightly longer wheelbase. The 400 Superamerica was succeeded in 1964.
