The Ferrari 412 T1, Scuderia Ferrari's contender in the 1994 Formula One World Championship, was a significant car in Ferrari's F1 history. Designed by John Barnard and developed by Gustav Brunner, the 412 T1 featured a straightforward yet effective design, with a 3.5 litre V12 engine. Its name signified four valves per cylinder, 12 cylinders, and a transverse gearbox. The car's aerodynamic efficiency was enhanced by heavily sculptured sidepods and a sleek, rounded nosecone. Throughout the season, the 412 T1 underwent continual upgrades, including redesigned sidepods and wings, leading to the introduction of the evolved 412 T1B variant. A major change was the introduction of the new Tipo 043 engine at the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix, which was notable for its power and distinctive sound. The 412 T1 marked Ferrari's return to competitive form after struggling in the early 1990s, with Gerhard Berger and Jean Alesi achieving podium finishes and Berger securing a win at the 1994 German Grand Prix. This car set the stage for further aerodynamic and safety enhancements in its successor, the 412 T2, the following year​​.
