The Ferrari 456M, introduced in 1998, represents an evolution of the original 456 with improvements in aerodynamics, cooling, and interior design. This model, with chassis numbers starting at 109589, maintained its luxurious Connolly Leather interior, but introduced new seats and a redesigned dashboard with fewer gauges and an updated Becker stereo. Externally, the 456M featured a smaller grille and incorporated fog lights. Notably, it replaced the 456's motorized undercarriage spoiler with a fixed version and was the first commercial vehicle to use a carbon fibre bonnet. Despite these changes, the 456M retained the same power output as its predecessor, with 442 PS from its Bosch Motronic M5.2 engine management system, and kept the cylinder firing order from the later versions of the 456 GT for smoother operation.
