The Ferrari 488 GTE made its debut in the 2016 WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at the 24 Hours of Daytona, finishing 10th overall and 4th in GTLM class. It secured a second-place finish at the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans and a victory at the 2016 Petit Le Mans with Risi Competizione. In 2017, the 488 GTE, run by Risi Competizione, achieved third in the GTLM class at Daytona and was successful in the FIA World Endurance Championship, winning both manufacturers and drivers titles with AF Corse. The updated 488 GTE Evo was introduced in 2018. In 2019, the 488 Evo won the LMGTE Pro class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the GTLM class at the Petit Le Mans, also achieving a second-place finish at Daytona with Risi Competizione.
