Introduced in 1954, the Ferrari 500 TR replaced the 500 Mondial as the brand's two-liter class car and was the first to feature the iconic Testa Rossa name. The 500 TR distinguished itself from the Mondial with several key differences, notably adopting a coil spring suspension—a significant shift for Ferrari. It also featured a synchronized transmission and a two-disc clutch. Renowned for its light weight at just 680 kg (1,500 lb), and powered by an engine producing 180 hp, the 500 TR delivered impressive performance. All units of the 500 TR were bodied by Scaglietti.
