Timeline

The Ferrari 1512, also known as the Ferrari 512 F1, was a Formula One car developed by Ferrari, using the same chassis as the 158 but featuring a powerful flat-12 engine. Designed by Mauro Forghieri, the Tipo 207 engine had a displacement of 1,489.63 cc and produced 220 PS at 12,000 rpm, making it one of the most powerful engines in the 1.5-litre class at the time. Only three chassis of the 1512 were produced. The car was specifically tailored for high-speed circuits like Reims, Spa, and Monza, complementing the 158 which was better suited for tighter tracks. The 1512 debuted at the 1964 US Grand Prix and was raced alongside the 158 through the 1964 and part of the 1965 seasons.
