Introduced in 2005, the Ferrari Superamerica was a convertible adaptation of the 575M Maranello, notable for its unique electrochromic glass panel roof. This innovative roof, taking 60 seconds to operate, rotated 180° to rest flat over the boot. The Revocromico roof, featuring a carbon-fiber structure and developed in collaboration with Saint Gobain, allowed access to the boot even with the roof open. The rear window served as a wind deflector when the roof was open. This roof concept was first seen on the 2000 Alfa Romeo Vola. The Superamerica utilized a higher-output V12 engine, the F133 G, producing 540 PS and achieving a top speed of 320 km/h, making it the world's fastest convertible at the time. An optional GTC handling package was available. Only 559 units were produced, in line with Enzo Ferrari's philosophy of keeping supply just below demand, and just 43 of these featured a manual gearbox.
