The Ferrari 612P, built for the 1968-1969 Can-Am series, featured a 6.2-liter, 12-cylinder engine, producing 620 hp. Despite its advanced design and a powerful rear wing for traction, it saw limited success, with its best result being a second place in Edmonton, driven by Chris Amon. The 612P was later replaced by the Ferrari 712P Can-Am in 1970.
