The 1956 Ferrari 860 Monza, an evolution of the 857 S, excelled in international sports car racing. Its engine, sized at 3.4 L (3431.93 cc), maintained a power output of 280 PS. A significant change was the increased wheelbase to 2,350 mm, accommodating a new front coil spring suspension, similar to the 500 TR. This improvement allowed the heavier car to maintain good handling. Notably, the 860 Monza achieved success at the 1956 12 Hours of Sebring, with Fangio and Castellotti winning and Musso and Schell placing second. Additionally, it secured second and third places at the 1956 Mille Miglia.
