Timeline

The Ferrari F40 GTE, designed by Pininfarina for Ferrari's 40th anniversary and unveiled in 1987, featured a modified 2,936cc V8 engine, capable of over 700 HP. It combined a lightweight construction of steel, carbon fiber, and Kevlar with a minimalistic interior, lacking power steering and having mostly plastic windows. Designed for aerodynamic efficiency and cooling, it featured numerous air scoops and vents. Despite its racing focus, air conditioning was a common addition. Initially projected to cost $280,000, its market price escalated to $400,000.
