The F430 GT3, a racing car derived from the F430 Challenge, was developed in 2006 by JMB Racing for the FIA GT3 European Championship and other national GT championships. While mechanically similar to the F430 Challenge, the GT3 features enhanced aerodynamics and increased power. It uses a 4.3 L V8 engine tuned to 550 hp, surpassing the power of the GT2 version. However, GT3 regulations mandate a power-to-weight ratio of around 2.6 kg/hp, resulting in a race trim weight of 1,219 kg, about 119 kg heavier than the GT2 car. Despite its higher power, the GT3 is slower than the GT2; for instance, at the 2007 Spa 24 Hours, the GT3's best qualifying time was around 8 seconds slower per lap compared to the GT2.
