The F430 Spider, unveiled at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show, is the convertible version of the F430 and Ferrari's 21st road-going convertible. Designed by Pininfarina, it employs aerodynamic simulation techniques used in Formula 1 cars. The Spider features a two-stage folding roof that tucks away above the engine bay. Its interior and performance characteristics are identical to the F430 coupé, except for a slight increase in weight and a minor decrease in top speed by 5 km/h (3 mph).
