The Ferrari Mondial Quattrovalvole (QV), introduced in 1982, represented an evolution of the original Mondial's engine, upgrading from a two-valve to a four-valve per cylinder design. This new engine, producing 240 hp, was similar to that in the contemporary 308 GTB/GTS QV and its combustion chamber was influenced by Ferrari's early eighties Formula 1 engines. Externally, the Mondial QV maintained the Mondial 8's appearance but featured red engine heads and distinct "Quattrovalvole" script at the rear. A total of 1,145 coupés were produced from 1982 to 1985.
