The Ferrari SF90, internally named Project 670, was Scuderia Ferrari's contender in the 2019 Formula One World Championship, driven by Sebastian Vettel and debutant Charles Leclerc. Designed to celebrate Ferrari's 90th anniversary, the SF90 introduced a radical front wing design under the new regulations, aiming to direct airflow more predictably, albeit with less overall downforce. It featured aerodynamic tweaks like a smaller engine cover and a matte finish for weight reduction. The SF90 showed strong straight-line performance, particularly between the Belgian and Mexican Grands Prix, where it achieved six consecutive pole positions and its only race wins of the season. Despite a promising start in pre-season testing, the car faced challenges throughout the season, including controversies over engine legality and team dynamics, culminating in a mixed performance with highlights like Leclerc's victories in Belgium and Italy, and Vettel's win in Singapore.
