The Ferrari Sigma, also known as the Ferrari Sigma Grand Prix, was a Formula One show car created by Pininfarina in 1969. Presented in Geneva, the Sigma was a prototype emphasizing safety innovations in response to numerous fatalities in Formula One due to low safety standards. Designed by Paolo Martin, it was based on the Ferrari 312 and featured a 3.0-liter V12 engine with 436 horsepower. Weighing 590 kg, the Sigma introduced safety features like a driver survival cell, multi-layer fuel tanks, a fire extinguisher system, and protruding sidepods to prevent wheel interlocking. The original car is currently owned by Pininfarina.
