The Ferrari SP12 EC, a unique sports car built for English musician Eric Clapton, was created under Ferrari's Special Projects programme and is based on the 458 Italia. Revealed in May 2012 and showcased at the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the SP12 EC features bespoke bodywork inspired by the Ferrari 512 BB. The design was a collaborative effort between the Ferrari Styling Centre and Pininfarina. It retains the 458 Italia's mechanical components, including the 4.5-litre V8 engine and seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. While many technical details of the car are confidential, it is known that the SP12 EC cost around £10,000,000.
