The Ferrari Superamerica 45 is a unique, custom-built car based on the 599 GTB, featuring a rotating targa hardtop. Commissioned by Peter Kalikow, a long-time Ferrari enthusiast and collector, to celebrate his 45 years as a Ferrari client, it is part of Ferrari's Special Project programme. The car, designed at Centro Stile Ferrari and engineered by Ferrari, debuted at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este on May 20, 2011. Its carbon fibre hardtop, similar to the 2005 Ferrari Superamerica's mechanism, rotates behind the cabin and integrates a rear screen. The redesigned carbon fibre boot accommodates the open roof and enhances rear downforce. Distinguished by its Blu Antille finish, the car features a chromed front grille, body-colored wheels, carbon fibre panels, and burnished aluminum on the A-pillars, wing mirrors, and door handles. Inside, it combines Cuoio leather trim with Blu Scuro carbon fibre and includes a latest-generation touch-screen infotainment system.
